The School for Autism is the first of its kind in Odisha and continues to be best place in India for Children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is manned by qualified professionals having long experience in dealing with Autism. The long experience backed by unmatched dedication of the staff members creates an ideal Ecosystem of rehabilitation.
The intervention is backed by innovation, research and objective of comprehensive care.
The children are divided into the pre primary school segment, primary school, pre vocational and vocational category.
They receive the special education for development of pre- academic skills and/or academic skills by experienced special educators. All the children receive need based professional therapies. The mainstream therapies include Speech Language therapy, Occupational therapy, Behaviour modification therapy etc. The doses of various therapies are decided based on the need assessment by qualified professionals experts. The recreational therapies like Dance, Arts, crafts, music and play is used to augment motor function, improve sensory motor coordination and cognitive function. ADL training is imparted for the development of functional independence among the children.
The School for Autism, established as a unit of Margdarsi, is recognised by the Government of Odisha, under Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disability. This is the pioneering exercise as the first school in Odisha with dedicated facility for children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders..
