Margdarsi's Approach

What is our Approach to Articulation?

1. Conduct a formal test to check the child’s ability to say all sounds in different contexts.

2. Test the language skills as well, to look at overall communication abilities.

3. Assess the strength and coordination of speech muscles to be sure that sound errors are not caused by muscle weakness.

4. Conduct screen hearing if that has not been done recently.

5. Provides the most suitable methods for the intervention of error sounds.

6. Instruct and counsel parents about the home training program.

7. Provides prevention at the early stage.

About Articulation Disorder

What is Articulation?

At an early age, most of a child’s speech is not well understood, and by about age eight, children should be able to say all sounds correctly. Mistakes are likely to present before that age as the child learns the sounds. But if a child mistakes in producing sounds persist after that age, a speech sound disorder may be present.

Speech sound disorders (SSD) include articulation disorders, in which a child has a problem in producing a sound or sounds, which makes it difficult for others to understand what that person is trying to say.
